For years, as long as either of them could remember RATS (Rope Access Technicians) have been discussing the prospect of a training centre in the heart of the Highlands.

Wouldn't that be great?!

You'd hear people say. Many would dream of such a venture. Then a hap chance meeting in late 2014 saw Andrew Johnston and Lee Fleming muster enough passion to establish IATS Ltd in March 2015 and forge the beginning of a plan to open a much needed establishment with room to grow and expand.

Finding a suitable venue...

As luck would have it after a painstakingly long and relentless search the ideal venue presented itself in the heart of Inverness. Although far from clean and with another business under the same roof we set about establishing our identity and our independance. 'The wall' as we call it, all 10 meters of it provided a sealed unit of over 4000sq ft. We busied ourselves for weeks on end getting everything in place in anticipation of our first course - the rest is rapidily becoming history...

Andrew and Lee are not only passionate and dedicated when it comes to working in a vertical world they really care about what they do. They see IATS training courses as an opportunity to meet new people and make a difference to their lives in ensuring they not only gain a qualification, but also an experience that will see them coming back again and again.
